- Practical tips
- When you try a new colour or a new style for the first time it's going to take you 5 or 10 minutes and a few passes in front of the mirror to get used to it.
Remember that when you go to the hairdresser for a new cut or colour it takes anywhere from 2 to 3 hours and so you have plenty of time to get used to your new appearance.
With your Newmee it's all done in less than 5 minutes !
- If you like a particular style but find that the fringe is too long or you want to personalize it in some way you can of course take your scissors and make some changes.
But we recommend that you be very careful and do a little at a time because obviously any mistakes are not going to grow out !
- What do I do when I receive my Newmee ?
Most of the time when you unwrap your wig you only need to gently shake it out to bring back its shape and maybe give it a light brushing (depending on the model).
Having said that, for some of the styles with fringes it is possible that they have been slightly flattened by the packaging.
Before reaching for the scissors and starting to cut (!) we recommend that you use a vaporiser to lightly dampen the wig with water at room temperature.
Use your fingers to delicately rearrange the hair, and if necessary use a roller to give volume to the fringe.
Now place your Newmee on a wig stand and wait until it is completely dry.
Do not attempt to brush your Newmee while it is still damp.
- How do I put on my Newmee ?
- Remove it from the protective netting and take out the paper packing. If necessary follow the advice of "What do I do when I receive my Newmee ?", otherwise hold it by the edge that corresponds to the hairline and gently shake it to seperate the fibers.
- Brush your own hair back. We strongly recommend that you use a wig cap which will keep your own hair under control, stop the wig from slipping on your head and help keep your Newmee cleaner for longer.
- Adjust the size of your Newmee by lengthening or shortening the straps incorporated into its cap.
- Put your wig on from front to back : hold the front edge against your forehead firmly with one hand, taking care not to trap the fringe or any other hair underneath, and pull it back with the other hand.Make sure that all of your hair is hidden under the cap.
- Adjust the wig so that the front edge corresponds to your natural hairline.
- Use the little tabs on either side of the cap and position them just above and in front of the ears to ensure that the Newmee is correctly centered.
It's as easy as that !
And now if you want you can have fun personalizing your Newmee.
- What can I use to style my Newmee ?
- We recommend that you use a brush with metal bristles (plastic ones tend to generate static electricity with synthetic wigs).
- You should brush delicately and always start at the tips, especially important with the longer wigs.
- Don't try and put every single hair perfectly into place, that will only take away the natural appearance of the style.
- After brushing, it is often good to gently shake out the wig or to run your fingers through it to give it a more natural look.
- Never brush your wig if it is not perfectly dry.
- Curls should not be brushed or combed but you can put them into shape with your fingers.
- Never apply heat or use heated appliances directly on your wig such as hair dryers, curling tongs, heated rollers etc... That would cause the fiber to melt and greatly damage your wig.
- Can I use lacquer, mousse or hair-gel on my Newmee ?
Yes you can use all of these products in moderation on your Newmee since it is perfectly washable.
However we recommend that you use specific products for synthetic hair, or any oil free water soluble product.
Avoid using perfume on your wig.
- How do I look after my Newmee ?
- The basic rule is to wash your wig as seldom as possible, or once every 10 to 15 times you use it depending on the number of hours it was worn and the environment (odours, smoke, etc...).
- The cut and the style of your wig will return to their original state once your Newmee has completely dried.
- Before washing, delicately untangle the fibers. For the longer styles start at the tips and work your way up to the roots.
- Fill your wash basin with cold water (never use hot water) and add a drop of special shampoo for synthetic wigs.
- Leave it to soak for 3 or 4 minutes, swishing it around gently from time to time. Do not rub.
- Rinse thoroughly in cold water until all the shampoo has been completely eliminated.If you wish to use a special synthetic wig conditioner refer to the manufacturer's instructions.(Some are creams to be added to the water, others are applied in a spray...)
- Lay your wig out flat on a towel. Do not wring !
- Gently dab it with the towel to soak up the excess water.
- Once it can no longer drip place the wig on a folding wig stand that will allow air to circulate.
Never put a damp wig on a solid display head or block. This will only enlarge it and stop it from drying properly.
Avoid exposing the wig to direct sunlight or to a heat source during the drying process.
- You should wait until your wig is completely dry before brushing it.
How do I store my Newmee?
- The best way to store your Newmee is to keep it on a wig stand which will help maintain its shape and freshness...
- Don't keep it in a closed plastic bag except for a short time in your suitcase when you're travelling.
- Some short layered styles can be kept turned inside out.
- Avoid storing your Newmee in humid, dusty or hot conditions.
